Arsenal have officially announced the signing of Per Mertesacker from Werder Bremen for a fee of £8.8million, on a 4 year contract. The deal had been completed before today, yet we were waiting for a few formalities to be tied up. He will wear the number 4 shirt. Who needs Cesc Fabregas!?
