Song’s been told he can leave and Bendtner should be off soon, whilst Robin has gone.

Morning. So Van Persie has been sold to Man Utd for £22 million rising to £24 million. In some ways an excellent deal, to get such money for a player with injury records like Robins, whilst at the same time the desperate hatred of selling to United. If we go on and have a fantastic season, obviously it’ll be great business and if not it’s appalling. Time will tell.
In other news Barcelona’s interest in Alex Song is alive and kicking. The player has been told he can leave and this continues with our stance all summer that we want a proper defensive midfielder. Should we get over £15million for him I think this is great business – AS LONG as we reinvest it. I don’t buy into the he’s a great player… most professional footballers can chip balls over the top to strikers and there’s much more talented players to do this, than Alex Song. A proper defensive minded midfielder will help us more than him.

Bendtner should also be leaving in the next week as he finalizes a move away.
Finally, good luck to our new captain Thomas Vermaelen.

well, leave other players intact;bendtner, arshavin&song.that RVP is snub enuf 4 us!!

We are the club we are. We develop excellent players who move on to clubs willing to pay more than we can, because we can’t go into anymore debt. We develop players who will never be able to play to our standards and we sell them off to lesser clubs.
We make a good business from developing players to their full potential and we win a lot of matches with them here along the way. Also there is no question that as the stadium debt is paid off and the disadvantageous commercial deals that we had to sign to build the stadium expire and are replaced with more revenue producing ones we will be able to pay higher wages and transfer fees needed to retain our better players and to buy better players already playing to a high standard.
Most of the players that we sell off never again play as well as they did here because we are not just a development club we also play a very good brand of team football that makes the team better than the sum of the individual players. It is also a very pleasing brand of football and is very exciting to watch. There are not many teams that you can say that about.
This is enough for me for now. I would be more than a little bit excited for us to win silverware but it would be in addition to the satisfaction I get from the team we field every year. I respectfully suggest that this be at least a consideration for my fellow fans as we go through what will be a hard week.
Go you Gunners! Go!
