Park Chu Young set to seal his transfer as Traore leaves, leaving us with no fit left back

Who we want at Arsenal

‘Id 8-2 be an Arsenal fan’ , ‘Eight alive today’ and the worst of all coming from a Liverpool fan: “I’m sorry mate. I’m not even gonna mock you.” Just a few things texted to me, following yesterday. I still can’t believe we’ve just let in 8 goals in a game.

Anyhow, Wenger confirmed yesterday Park Chu Young will seal his deal to us soon this week. He will earn £40,000 per week according to L’Equipe, the french newspaper, while the fee is reported as near £5million. He will wear the number 9 shirt.

Traore is currently having a medical at QPR and this leaves us with no left back, as Gibbs is injured. Since Enrique went to Liverpool we haven’t been looking at signing a left back, yet with Gibbs and no one else, where does this leave us? Currently however we have to prioritize every position in the squad. We NEED a centre back. We NEED a centre midfielder. We NEED a defensive midfielder. We NEED an attacking midfielder and we NEED a left back….in 3 days.

At least on fifa 12 we’ve gone one huge budget to spend!

M’Vila could be on his way in U-Turn, Cahill bid rejected and Gonzalez to add experience to our midfield

Emirates

Yesterday hailed a busy day for Arsenal: The Champions league draw occurred and we were given a group consisting of Marseille, Olympiakos and Borussia Dortmund – tough, but one in which we should qualify. Importantly though, Gazidis did not attend the draw, as negotiations for various attmpeted deals were happening.

Renne’s stance on selling M’Vila has changed since we qualified for the Champions League. The player wants a move to play in the competition and although Renne’s said they didn’t want to sell, if negotiations go smoothly we could have our man for £21million. Yes, a club record….for a defensive midfielder! He’s been scouted often over the past few years and Wenger believes he’s the right man to give us midfield options, with his smooth passing and physical presence. According to David Hynter who talked with Wenger yesterday, we are confident of landing our man.

Common knowledge by now, but we did have a very low bid for Cahill rejected, which came to around £7million. Ludicrous on our behalf really. Only time will tell how much we want him.

Wenger also wants Lucho Gonzalez on loan from Marseille. They signed the Argentine international play maker for 18million euros in 2009, however he’s had an injury hit time in France, with 63 appearances in his time there and as a result Wenger is keen for a loan, not a permanent deal as Marseille are suggesting. He would command high wages and this is the reason behind Wenger wanting him on loan – he doesn’t have to commit to a player who could arguably be another ‘Rosicky’ at 30 years old. This is particularly emphasized when the loan fee in question is £3million, when we could sign him permanently for around £6million.

Finally, we have made no bid for Hazard yet, of which reports in France are stating. They do not want to sell and it would take a monumental fee to get him, of which it is hugely unlikely we will play.

Nasri is sold to City for £24million

Emirates

Samir Nasri, unlike the rest of the squad on the plane to Udinese is today travelling to Manchester, to complete his signing for City. He will double his wages and get a signing on fee of around £4million. Wenger DID NOT want to sell his midfielder, but the player wanted to leave and the board forced him too. The final fee is £24million, yet some of the money will be going to Marseille in a sell on clause.

Unfortunately, all our transfer targets seem to be disappearing faster than the aid given to Sudan; Eden Hazard is wanted, yet the player is now being persuaded to not move to Arsenal, by his agent – as well as that it would take over £30million for Lille to part with their prized asset, not the £26million the BBC and Mirror report. M’Villa won’t move as Rennes refuse to sell, as he’s just signed a new contract and it’s likely his value will continue to rise and finally Phil Jagielka, our number one transfer target, is unlikely to come as Wenger refuses to pay over £15million for a 29 year old.

Although unofficially confirmed, Jack Wilshere has today had a setback in training, trying to be fit for Udinese. He could be out for two months.Yikes. We really need reinforcements, yet the chances of getting them are declining. Rapidly.

Arsenal want Hazard and play a risky game with the Centre Back situation

EdenHazard

First off, my apologies for a few days of non-posts, it’s been a very busy period for me with work. Anyway back to the real state of affairs, Arsenal. Discontent, is a word I would use with huge understatement, concerning fans and their thoughts around the club currently. Understandable, is a word which is definitely right to describe those feelings. Nasri will move to Manchester City by tomorrow for a fee near £25million, however agents trying to stake a right for money in the deal, are slowing it up. Fabregas has officially moved to Barca, and it would have been a few days sooner for Pep Guardiola preventing Fabregas flying to Spain on the Friday, for fear of disrupting the team, ahead of their first ‘El Classico’ versus Madrid. Anyway, who cares, Fabregas’ isn’t our player anymore.

The Mata deal is dead in the water. Chelsea have gone for the player big time, submitting a large bid. The player was up for joining Arsenal, however our fee and Valencias weren’t near in agreement. As usual, money to spend but not spending it.

However, we have been looking at Hazard. L’Equipe have run various stories and many sources have stated we have made minor contact with Lille over him. A £25million bid is the fee mentioned, Lille would negotiate at. Yes, of course you’re thinking – that’s mad; Arsene would never spend £25million on a player, but, Hazard is a player Wenger really does love. If any player could command such a fee from Arsene, Hazard fits the bill: Young, much promise, sell on value, fits the Arsenal style of play and could link up with Gervinho, as well as the fact he would love to play for us.

We still want a centre back, but yet again the poor nature of dealing with transfers at Arsenal is crippling us. We cannot make our mind up on who we want definitely. Cahill or Jagielka are the two favorites, the latter being our first choice if they were the same price. If we cant negotiate with Everton for a decent fee for Jagielka, it’s likely we’ll go for a deadline day swoop for Cahill. Risky. Far too risky for my liking. Basing the NEEDS of this team for the coming season on a period of 24 hours – just for a few million pounds off.

ps – Buzzing for this game, COD maybe good but Battlefield is awesome!
